Paying a Home Visit to the Elderly

The Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association and YWCA recruited some of our junior form students to pay a home visit to solitary elderly living in public housing estates and sub-divided flats in the Sham Shui Po district on 9th November 2014. Spending time and chatting with them allowed the students the opportunity to understand more about the life of dependent elderly. Additionally, knowing that their living might not be too fortunate, a customized gift bag was distributed hoping that a bit of warmth would enlighten a smile on their face.

Caritas Bazaar 2014

Approximately 100 students and parents participated in this year’s Caritas Bazaar held on Sunday, 9th November, 2014 with the theme “Give Them a Ray of Hope”. It was another successful event as both students and parents enthusiastically promoted stall games and sold items to guests.

On the whole, the event was an invaluable experience to many students, parents and teachers. Also, with the guidance and blessings from our mighty God, the Caritas Bazaar 2014 was definitely a great success!

Consulate Speaker Program 2014-2015

To provide knowledge of U.S. related topics ranging from American youth culture to innovation, two talks about ‘American youth culture’ and ‘Innovation: Connecting the power of ideas and creativity’ were organized on 7th November and 1st December 2014.

We were pleased to have Mr. Kevin Dahaghi, a Fullbright English Teaching Assistant currently based at Hong Kong Institute of Education, to talk about the American styles and trends, school life, leisure, entertainment and other cultural aspects to our F.4 students.

Moreover, F.5 students attended a talk conducted by Mr. Scott Robinson, spokesman of the Consulate, about famous innovators, inspiration for ideas, “out-of-the-box” thinking, and intellectual property rights.

Through these two programmes, students had the opportunity to learn more about recent American culture, pioneering innovations and initiatives to improve their creativity.
