DSE Result Announcement Seminar 2017-18

To support our F.6 students and their parents to face the fateful DSE result announcement day, the school organized a support seminar for them on 7th July 2018. This was the first time we held a joint seminar with both the parents and the students attending the same session in which they were briefed about the procedure of the DSE result announcement. Then parallel sessions were conducted separately for students and parents where students were put into small groups for career counselling and alumni sharing while the parents attended a support talk. The attendance rate was very high. 134 out of 137 of our F.6 students along with 138 parents attended the event. Now the parents and students are ready. Let’s pray for their hearts and may our merciful heavenly Father grant them the strength to face any challenges ahead.

F.1 STEM Workshop

As a part of the school’s effort to promote STEM education, a STEM workshop was put together for all F.1 students on 4th July. It was a highlight of the post-exam activities before the Summer Holiday. During the workshop, students could get hands-on experience in assembling mBots, 3-D Modelling and Metas. It was fun and engaging and all our F.1 boys had a great time.

Pre-Final Examination Revision Class 2017-18

To help F.1 to F.5 students prepare for the final exam, F.6 graduates, after sitting for the HKDSE, were invited to come back to be the tutors for their younger brothers. During the two weeks of revision period, tutors and participants reported to the hall at 3:30 p.m. and did revision in small groups until 5:30 p.m. More than 100 students participated and around 20 F.6 tutors helped in the revision sessions. We are grateful for the volunteer service provided by our graduates. Their effort will certainly help boost our boys’ exam performances.

Champagnat Day 2017-2018

As a tradition for a Marist School, we celebrated the Champagnat Day on 6th June, 2018. We had a holy mass to commemorate St. Marcellin Champagnat, the founder of the Marist Brothers. Celebrating with us, were visiting Brothers and teachers from Catholic High School of Sibu, Malaysia and one of our benefactors Mr. Poon, who donated 100 thousand dollars to the school for development at the end of the ceremony.

After the mass, students were free to engage in a host of activities prepared for them. Though the bad weather forced us to cancel all of the out-door competitions, there was no shortage of fun for our students to enjoy the last school day before the final examination.
