Joint School Retreat: Messengers of Hope

Lent is a season for all faithful Christians to commemorate the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The three pillars of Lent—prayer, fasting, and almsgiving—are foundational practices in the Christian faith, designed to deepen one’s relationship with God, foster self-discipline, and promote charity during the 40 days of preparation for Easter.

On 19 March (Thursday), a Joint School Retreat was organised by the Pastoral Committee for the Catholic students from both SFXC and SFXS. Around 100 students and teachers participated in the event. The programme started with a prayer and an input by Br. John on the theme, “Messengers of Hope,” followed by a workshop on making a “Crystal Globe” with a cross inside, conducted by the Catholic Student Association. At the same time, students were encouraged to take time for Confession.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Father Billy Ng, an Opus Dei priest, for being the confessor and the presider of the Joint School Retreat Closing Mass at our school chapel.
