The GalaMusica • School Chamber Compositions 2023

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to our student F.6B Ng Lik Hei Christopher! Christopher, who was our School String Orchestra chairman, participated in "The GalaMusica • School Chamber Compositions 2023". The competition was presented by the Arts Education (AE) Section of the Curriculum Development Institute and the Education Bureau, co-organized by the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild and was sponsored by the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong. 

On 10th February 2023, Christopher’s award-winning composition work was performed by professional musicians in the theatre of the Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre.

With his excellent work, Christopher was awarded the Outstanding Composition Award and he was selected to join the “Hong Kong Composers’ Guild Mentorship Scheme”. In the coming year, he will have the chance to learn from experienced composers with full sponsorship.

May Christopher create more excellent work and achieve bigger success in the future!

 

2022 Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows

In December 2022, the SFXC Chinese Orchestra and the SFXC Wind Band participated in the 2022 Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows.

In the contest, the Chinese Orchestra won the Silver Award in the Secondary School Class A and the Wind Band won the Silver Award in the Symphonic Band Interflow Secondary School Intermediate Class.

Congratulations to our Music School Teams! Keep up the good spirit and fight the good fights in the coming competitions!



Lunar New Year’s Gathering

Since epidemics, SFXC’s Lunar New Year’s Gathering (新春團拜) resumes as an in-person new year’s gathering for the first time. On 28th January 2023, Brothers and staff joyfully gathered to welcome the Year of the Rabbit in the Brothers’ Dining Room. To extend our festive greetings, a fruit basket well-prepared by the School Development Committee was presented to the brothers. May God bless us to have a healthy and fruitful Year of the Rabbit!   

The 11th Annual General Meeting of PTA

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) Annual General Meeting of 2021-2022 was held successfully on 17th December 2022. About 100 parents and teachers attended the meeting, held at the school hall with a live broadcast on Zoom. The meeting ran smoothly and a good discussion result was achieved.

Before the end of the meeting, Dr. Charles Yu Tak Shun, a well-known
expert in parent education, was invited to host a talk on the topic of “Untapped Potential of Children”. Dr. Charles Yu shared his professional insights and knowledge through the talk which were well received by participants.  

We look forward to working with parent representatives continuously to advance school’s development in the coming years.
