F.3 Parents’ Gathering 2023-2024

We warmly welcomed 118 parents to our F.3 Parents’ Gathering on 13th April 2024. The event commenced with a heartfelt welcome from our Principal, Mr. Leung. This was followed by an informative session led by our Vice-principal, Mr. Ching, who elucidated the senior secondary education framework, school places allocation process, and our approach to National Security Education. Our Career Mistress, Ms. Chan, then expertly linked senior secondary subject selections to university admission criteria. Subsequently, our school social worker, Ms. Wong, offered valuable advice on how parents can guide and support their children through the elective subject selection process. The gathering concluded with a vibrant exchange of ideas between parents and form teachers.

A heartfelt thank you to all F.3 parents for your enthusiastic involvement, which made this event both meaningful and successful.

Inner Mongolia Culture and Stargazing Study Tour

From 27 March to 3 April 2024, 25 of our Form 4 and Form 5 boys embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Beijing and Inner Mongolia, exploring the rich cultural heritage and breathtaking landscapes of mainland China.

This immersive study tour was carefully designed to deepen their understanding and appreciation of China's beauty, culture, and history. Our students engaged in a diverse range of activities, including:

  • Mongolian cultural experiences, such as a vibrant bonfire party
  • Visits to renowned Chinese enterprises, like Yili Dairy, to learn about innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Explorations of iconic cultural and historical sites, including Tiananmen Square, the majestic Great Wall at Badaling, Xiangshawan, and the serene Dazhao Temple

Through this enriching experience, we hope our students gained a deeper understanding of China's social development, cultural diversity, and national identity. This tour not only broadened their horizons but also ignited a sense of pride and connection to their heritage.

SFX Talentine 2024: A Dazzling Display of Talent!

On 23 March 2024, the Champagnat Hall was abuzz with excitement as we hosted the highly anticipated SFX Talentine 2024! This spectacular event brought together our honored guests, dear parents, teachers, and fellow students for an unforgettable experience.

Our talented students took center stage, showcasing their incredible skills in both the matinee and evening shows. The performances were truly mesmerizing, and we received an overwhelming response from the audience.

Our Masters of Ceremony warmly welcomed our special guests, including primary students from nearby schools - Tak Sun School, Tai Kok Tsui Catholic Primary School, Tai Kok Tsui Catholic Primary School (Hoi Fan Road), Yaumati Catholic Primary School, and Yaumati Catholic Primary School (Hoi Wang Road).

The show featured an array of outstanding musical performances, including a joint orchestra performance by YCPS and SFXC, which received a standing ovation! The School Choir, Chinese Ensemble, and String Orchestra further electrified the audience, taking the show to new heights.

But that's not all! Our students also wowed the crowd with surf-skating demonstrations, English and Chinese dramas, dazzling dance performances, and an English film-dubbing performance that left everyone in awe.

As the grand finale, our school principal, Mr. Leung, led all guests, teachers, and students in a heartfelt rendition of our school song, bringing the annual SFX Talentine 2024 to a beautiful close.

Evangelization Weeks 2024

During the period from 4th March to 21st March, our school hosted the annual Evangelization Week, a collaborative effort between the Pastoral Committee and the Religious Studies Committee. The primary goal of this event was twofold: to deepen students’ religious understanding and to provide them with tools and strategies for managing the demands of their busy study schedules.

Here are the highlights of Evangelization Week:

1.     Icon Appreciation and Harp Music Therapy:

All Form 1 to Form 5 students participated in class-by-class sessions held at the school chapel.

Our invited guest, Ms. Cindy Ng, guided students through the appreciation of religious icons and the soothing experience of harp music therapy.

2.     Religious Quiz and Morning Songs:

During lunchtime, students engaged in a lively religious quiz, testing their knowledge and fostering a sense of community.

In the mornings before assembly, uplifting religious songs resonated throughout the school, creating a positive and reflective atmosphere.

3.     Closing Mass:

The week culminated with a solemn Closing Mass presided over by Fr. Natalius Suryanto, S.V.D. on Thursday after school.

The Mass provided an opportunity for reflection, prayer, and spiritual renewal.

The evaluation and feedback from participants were overwhelmingly positive. Students found the event useful, meaningful, and helpful in deepening their faith and fostering a sense of connection within our school community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the success of Evangelization Weeks 2024.
